During the installation of natural stone, we not only need to ensure that the true and natural color and texture of its surface are not polluted, but also need to have certain waterproof measures. At present, there are three methods to install waterproof seal on stone:
1、 Sealant is not added to the empty joint. Air convection is formed on the back of the stone to discharge the water vapor out of the room, so as to prevent the formation of temperature difference on the stone surface so that no condensed water will appear on the inner surface of the stone.
2、 The half seam sealing type is to keep the facade free of sealant. The facade has a good three-dimensional sense. In fact, the adhesive layer is hidden inside the node. It must be ensured that the thickness of the sealant should be about 6mm, but not more than the width. The width should be determined according to the quality of the adhesive. It shall be consistent with JGJ120 and JGJ133.
3、 The neutral sealing silicone adhesive, which is a special adhesive for stone, shall be used to seal all the joints of the facade. The rainwater of the facade shall not enter the back of the stone, so that the stone is dense in a dry state (except for rain and snow), and the bending strength and shear strength of the stone shall remain unchanged. Necessary measures shall be taken to ensure that the stone will not freeze and alkalize, and that the project will be permanent.
In addition, it should be noted that when sealing stone, one should be aware that although stone cannot breathe like human beings, it also needs to be "breathable" to ensure the survival and reproduction of bacteria in stone. Many sealing measures are carried out around these two points.
Although stone cannot breathe like human beings, it also needs "air permeability". Stone is composed of various crystals, and crystals are composed of various minerals. The crystal structure formed by these minerals determines the type of stone: marble, limestone, or granite. The integrity of the crystal has much to do with the millions of bacteria in it. In addition, the water in the stone also needs to evaporate to the outside through the gap.
