The Guangdong Provincial Bureau of Quality Supervision recently released the second batch of plans for the preparation and revision of local standards for the service industry in Guangdong Province in 2014. The provincial local standard Code for Loading, Unloading and Freight Transportation of Stone Ports, which was formulated and revised by Guangdong Yunfu Xingang Port Co., Ltd., Yun'an Stone Chamber of Commerce, Yun'an Quality and Technology Association, Yunfu City and other units, was approved for project initiation.
In recent years, stone is an important new building material for decoration. With the sharp increase of market demand, the stone industry has been developing rapidly, which has also driven the rapid growth of stone imports and exports. Port transport plays an increasingly important role in stone trade. In addition, with the continuous improvement of the scientific and modern level of the current loading and unloading equipment, the original loading and unloading operation technology has become increasingly difficult to meet the requirements of the bulk and diversification of stone goods entering and leaving the port. However, at present, there is no relevant standard or technical specification for stone loading and unloading in Guangdong Province or even in the whole country, which directly leads to the shortage and damage of goods during the loading, unloading and transportation of stone materials. The economic loss is increasing day by day, and even restricts the development of the stone industry to a certain extent.
Accelerating the formulation and promulgation of the Technical Specifications for Stone Port Loading and Unloading and Freight Transportation, and unifying the technical requirements for stone industry freight loading and unloading, will not only help improve the quality and efficiency of port services in Yun'an District, protect the interests of both parties to the trade, but also help improve the safety of port shipping, and provide important technical service support for the development of the stone industry.
