The stone industry is one of the most important industries in China's building materials industry. Since China became the world's largest stone producer, exporter and consumer in 2005, it has maintained rapid growth, driving the development of the global stone industry and becoming a hot spot in the world market.
In view of the current development of China's stone industry and how to deal with the new situation of "Internet+", the media interviewed Chen Guoqing, the full-time vice president of China Building Materials Federation and the president of China Stone Association. The following is an excerpt.
1、 What is the current situation of China's stone industry?
Chen Guoqing: Since the reform and opening up, especially in the new century, China's stone industry has made remarkable achievements, and the scale of the industry and the level of technical equipment have changed dramatically compared with the past. Stone industry is an important industry in the building materials industry, but it was just a small industry at first. With the rapid development of our national economy, the stone industry has developed rapidly with the private economy as the main body. The development of the enterprise itself is very good. In the past two years, the development has been faster. The stone industry has continuously improved its position in the building materials industry. The annual sales revenue of the whole industry has accounted for the top four in the building materials industry. At present, the fixed asset investment scale and growth rate of the stone industry are among the best in the building materials industry, which fully proves the high confidence in the development of the stone industry.
Of course, there are also many problems in the development of the stone industry, such as the extensive development mode, the existence of backward technology and equipment, as well as the deficiencies in clean production, operation and management, especially in the new normal situation of China's economic development from high-speed growth to medium high-speed growth, as well as infrastructure construction, especially with real estate facilities, public buildings For stone materials closely related to the development of building decoration and other related industries, the decline in growth rate has a great impact on and impact on the stone industry; In addition, the late impact of the international financial crisis and the downturn of the international market also led to the differentiation of the development of Chinese stone enterprises. Good enterprises have gone against the trend and accelerated their development through technological progress, management and brand building. However, many small and medium-sized enterprises have slowed down their development and even faced difficulties in operation and stagnant development.
The key to the development of the stone industry in the 13th Five Year Plan is to accelerate the pace of transformation and upgrading in accordance with the requirements of the Scientific Outlook on Development and plan for the future development of the stone industry. First, we should strive to make the stone industry stronger and better. At present, the total scale of China's stone industry ranks first in the world, but from the perspective of single enterprises, the scale is still quite low from the perspective of concentration, and there is a considerable gap compared with the international. The second is to vigorously improve the technical equipment level of the stone industry. In general, China's stone industry is still relatively backward. Although China's stone industry has made great progress in terms of vertical comparison and years of development, there is still a big gap between China's stone industry and the international advanced level in terms of horizontal comparison. Third, we should vigorously promote the clean production of stone industry. There is still much work to be done in the stone industry. In order to promote cleaner production in the whole industry, China Stone Association, together with enterprises and local associations in the whole industry, has done a lot of work in formulating standards and specifications and determining demonstration enterprises. Compared with the traditional building materials industry, stone is a natural resource, which does not require kiln calcination and other processes. Therefore, the relative energy consumption is not high, and the pressure on energy conservation is not great. However, the pressure on the clean production industry is great, especially the dust problems in stone mining, processing and production, and the comprehensive utilization of resources are more serious. If not effectively addressed, the further development of the stone industry will be seriously constrained, affecting sustainable development. Fourth, promote stone products into home decoration. This is an important measure to tap the market potential of stone products and promote the development of high value-added stone products. It is also an important trend for the future development of stone industry. It is helpful to expand the application scope of stone products, improve the added value, promote the progress of technical equipment and processing level, and improve the level of stone industry as a whole. The fifth is to support and promote the development of brand enterprises, and guide competitive enterprises to become stronger and larger. We have very good stone products and stone blocks, but the brand and popularity are not enough. From a worldwide perspective, our enterprise scale, influence and competitiveness also have a considerable gap.
2、 What are the key points for the future development of stone industry?
Chen Guoqing: First, improve brand awareness. At present, the industry focuses more on products and less on brands based on resources. The brand comes first. At present, many domestic enterprises also pay attention to brand building, such as Gaoshi and Globegroup. Shanghai Donghua Globegroup is also organizing research on how to establish and promote enterprise brands. This is an important development orientation, which is conducive to promoting the progressive development of the industry and enterprises, improving the quality of products, and enhancing the competitiveness of enterprises.
Second, improve the industrial concentration of the stone industry. At present, insufficient industrial concentration is one of the important reasons that lead to vicious competition, low economic efficiency, low level of technology and equipment, and restricted environmental protection. At present, stone industry parks and stone bases are being built all over the country, attracting many enterprises to invest and develop. In this process, we attach importance to guiding large enterprises and brand enterprises in the industry to invest and develop, which is conducive to promoting the standardized development of stone parks around the country, as well as the progress and development of large enterprises. In addition, equipment, process, environmental protection, effective utilization of stone resources and quality assurance are controlled and standardized, so as to improve industrial concentration.
Third, promote energy conservation, environmental protection and cleaner production. If the stone industry does not step up the promotion of cleaner production, the whole industry will have no development prospects. At present, the Party Central Committee, the State Council and local governments at all levels pay more and more attention to environmental governance, dust emission, occupational health and production safety of workers. Therefore, promoting energy conservation, environmental protection and clean production of stone industry is an important way for the healthy and sustainable development of stone industry.
Fourth, stone is used for home decoration. As a "system engineering", it involves many fields and departments such as production, design, application, standards, etc. It is very complex and difficult. But once it is pushed away, its market application, the improvement of stone product quality, and the requirements for enterprise technical equipment will be greatly improved.
The above four aspects are the focus of the future work of our stone industry and association. From the perspective of the industry, they are conducive to improving the industrial structure adjustment level, improving the competitiveness of the stone industry, and facilitating the international integration; For enterprises, it can improve their profitability and help them grow.
3、 Nowadays, "Internet plus" is popular in all walks of life. Whether it is the stone exhibition industry or the whole stone industry, it may be the same. What do you think of this?
Chen Guoqing: At the third session of the 12th National People's Congress on March 5 this year, Premier Li Keqiang clearly proposed to implement the "Internet plus" action plan in his work report. It is an inevitable trend for the future development of stone exhibition industry to make full use of "Internet plus" and other information means to promote the exhibition. Now we do physical exhibitions, which cannot throw away the advantages of the Internet. In addition, we also talked about e-commerce, big data and so on, which are all good ways for us to make full use of the advantages of the Internet. In terms of physical exhibitions, we directly contact customers, professional visitors, designers, etc., and have face-to-face exchanges on products and equipment, so as to achieve communication, exchange and cooperation. However, what makes the communication effect bigger and wider is more to use the Internet, which can let us know more quickly what the characteristics of stone products are and what stone equipment is needed to support and realize. Therefore, while holding the exhibition, we make full use of a large amount of information and data obtained in the stone exhibition, including information about exhibitors, visitors, products, technical equipment, energy conservation and emission reduction, industrial policy guidance, etc. We collect all the information, which is helpful to the exhibition. What the exhibition cares about and understands is also helpful to enterprises. By feeding back these data to the industry and enterprises, the production enterprises can more comprehensively and timely understand the demand for products in terms of architecture, construction and design; The equipment manufacturer knows what kind of equipment is needed; The whole industry knows more about what kinds of products are needed in the market, what problems need to be solved in the promotion and application, and so on. Through our collection of information and big data, we can better understand the needs and development orientation of enterprises, exhibitions and the whole industry in the future. Therefore, we should fully study and make good use of "Internet plus" when holding exhibitions. The physical exhibition must not be separated from "Internet plus", big data, e-commerce, etc. This is not only to comply with the requirements of the state for the development of "Internet plus", but also to meet the development needs of the times and the market, and more importantly, to improve the quality of the stone industry and expand the market.
