The reason why stone is used for decoration of high-grade buildings is, to a large extent, to make use of its excellent physical properties, especially its rich color, which is incomparable to other materials.
However, as the color of stone is naturally formed, the color quality is determined by the pigment ions contained in the stone and the internal structure. The order of formation of different minerals that make up stone materials is different, which will also affect the change of color. This is what we call color difference. In the process of stone decoration, even in the same place, if the stone color is too large, it will greatly affect the overall beauty of the stone. What factors may cause the stone color difference? How should we take precautions? Reason 1: The manufacturer did not pre arrange the stone according to the drawing number after cutting the stone, and the acceptance of the materials was not strict when entering the site. The boards with reversed grain and large color difference were not selected.
Prevention 1: When the factory is placing a stone processing order, it is better to number each stone one by one, and mark the direction of the grain if there is a grain direction. The manufacturer shall make pre layout to ensure the uniform texture and color of stone. After materials arrive at the site, unpack and pre pave the materials for acceptance, arrange them according to the number of typesetting, and pick out the plates with abrupt changes in pattern and uneven color.
Reason 2: The on-site workers did not strictly follow the number of the layout drawing in the construction process.
Prevention 2: If no problem is found after the pre paving of materials during acceptance, the workers must construct according to the pre paving number during construction. If there is stone damage or grain and color difference during the process, the plate shall be pre laid and positioned with yellow sand to ensure that the subsequent stone can be paved, but not firmly pasted, and replaced after the patched plate arrives at the site. The disclosure to the workers shall be clear. It is strictly forbidden to construct stones of the same specification not according to the number, and the plates with color difference shall not be used. The quality inspector and the foreman shall be diligent in patrolling to find the plates with large grain color difference in time.
Cause 3: The finished products on site are poorly protected, resulting in the ground being only soaked and polluted by water, which is easy to cause color difference.
Prevention 3: For the soft stones on the ground or the stones with many holes, pay attention to prevent water from soaking after construction, and do not use carpet, cardboard, straw curtain, etc. that are easy to fade as protective materials for the ground protection. Because the color difference will be caused when the protective materials are soaked after the construction site runs out of water.
