Natural stone is formed by different kinds of minerals, such as calcium carbonate, which is the natural consolidation component of marble. Some viscous minerals are mixed into calcium during the formation of stone, thus forming brilliant colors. The beautiful patterns of marble are formed by liquid minerals flowing through the rock under the action of high temperature and pressure. When the temperature is high, the liquid mineral can flow. When the temperature is low, the mineral flow stops flowing and gradually hardens into beautiful patterns.
The colors and minerals of stone materials correspond as follows:
Black: biotite, hornblende, carbon
Brown: limonite
Ash: various minerals
Green: mica, chloride, silicate
Red: hematite
White: feldspar, calcite, dolomite
Yellow: limonite
Because minerals have various crystal properties, different properties have different colors. The main minerals and their colors are as follows:
Pyroxene: brown, green, black, purple
Biotite: black, brown and green
Calcite: pearl and grey white
Dolomite: colorless, pink, light brown
Feldspar: yellow, white, pink, green, gray
Hematite: metallic grey, black
Hornblende: green, yellow, brown, black
Limonite: black, brown and yellow
Sulfur: light golden yellow
It should be noted that if incorrect cleaning agent is used, or cleaning agent not specially used for stone curing is used, and if dirty water is used for mopping, the fine color of stone may be changed. Long term exposure to the sun can also fade the natural stone.
